Top 7 Dog Friendly Beaches in Ontario

If you’ve yet to enjoy a beach day with your pup this summer, what are you waiting for? Ontario is home to many dog friendly beaches that you’re going to love so let’s get into it! 

Long Point Provincial Park

Distance from Toronto: 2.5 hrs

Long Point Provincial Park can be found along Lake Erie. There’s a 1.5km stretch of beautiful white sand beaches and the best part is, the two off-leash dog areas! 

Pinery Provincial Park 

Distance from Toronto: 2.5 hrs

Pinery Provincial Park is one fo the best dog friendly beaches you’ll find in Ontario. It’s along Lake Huron so you can count of crystal clear blue water. It’s a great place to take your pup for a swim!

Cherry/Clarke Beach

Distance from Toronto: None - in the city

When it comes to Toronto beaches, there aren’t many spots you can take your dog off-leash. Luckily, Cherry/Clarke Beach has a large off-leash zone which is perfect if you live in or close to the city! 

It’s also the perfect place to rock a matching bandana and scrunchie set.

Wasaga Beach Area 3 

Distance from Toronto: 1.5 hrs

After a killer sunset? You need to check out Wasaga Beach! Although most areas of the beach don’t allow dogs off-leash, Beach Area 3 will welcome your doggos off-leash any day of the week.

Bon Echo Provincial Park 

Distance from Toronto: 3 hrs

Bon Echo Provincial Park is a bit further from the city but worth the drive! When it comes to dog friendly beaches, you won’t find much better. There’s amazing hiking trails, as well as Mazinaw Rock with 260 Indigenous pictographs, making it a great spot for adventure seekers and their pups. 

Killbear Provincial Park 

Distance from Toronto: 2.5 hrs

Killbear is along Georgian Bay so you’re bound to catch some stunning sunsets all summer! It’s also home to two dog beaches, unique hiking trails and a rugged shoreline.

Rock Point Provincial Park 

Distance from Toronto: 2 hrs 

Rock Point Provincial Park is certainly one of the most unique dog friendly beaches in Ontario. With exposed fossils from a coral reef that date back as far as 350 million years plus a dog beach, it’s worth checking out.
